Deutsch comes to town... again.: Again, not sure why we're drinking the '02. There are '03's in our market. Vanilla nose with red fruits on the nose. Not over the hill, but not terribly exciting. A well made wine with solid fruit. 86-87

Bottle variation? Food match? First time I had it (sept 07) I thought it was fabulous. This time I thought it was just good. Oak and velvety concentration more pronounced first time. Still had some good spice this time, but didn't seem as aromatic or as full.

Zinfandel (Snowgoose): Still fresh and alive as ever. Had an '01 two weeks prior and was so surprised how long it has held up. This is the same. Fresh picked raspberries are explosive on the nose with a nice spiciness. The palate is the same with a jammy mouthfeel, cherries, and nise toasty vanilla on the finish. Amazing how a quality Zin can last a few years without fading.
