This has improved each time I have opened a bottle. Decanted this one for about three hours. Full bodied and black cherry red. Nose is beautiful with sweet baking spice, vanilla and ripe black currant finally giving way to licorice. Flavors start with dark fruit, giving way to gravel-mineral notes, tea and lingering into a finish of pencil shavings and spice. Still has solid structure and should continue to cellar well with some improvement still possible judging by its evolution the past year+.

Showed better than last bottle. Didn't make tasting notes, but this got better with some air. By last glass, quite enjoyable. Will decant next time. Probably still improving in the bottle.

Full bodied, dark red. On uncorking, this wine had a big oaky nose and a slightly tart cranberry taste followed by smoke. Given some time, it opened up to darker fruit aromas and flavors. Good structure and balance, no obvious flaws, but lacks complexity. The bottle was starting to weep from a vein in the cork, but didn't appear to be obviously off. I saved a full glass, vacuum corked and on the second day, it seemed a little more complex with the nose showing dark cherry and berry with spicy notes of licorice with sweet oak. Flavors were black cherry and tea with an oak finish. I wanted to like it more for this price. I'm not sure more time in the bottle will improve it that much, but I will hold longer and decant the next one.
