Mature lightish colour, some watering at rim. Pungent and pleasing red fruits on the nose, with marked acidity. Pleasantly sharp, no sweetness, red fruits puckering the mouth. For the first two hours, it seemed to be in a good place, but a little later it began to tire, and some caramel emerged. Time to drink up, I think, and not to linger over the bottle.

Opened two hours before drinking, no decanting, developped in the glass: light rim no orange, very expressive cherry nose coming out of the glass, pleasant mouth with envelopped tannins still present (la culotte de velours), charming is the word, everything you want from a mature burgundy, will hold 5 years or more.

Opened a couple of hours before drinking, not decanted. Clear, tawny brick red. Clean nose, really quite evolved, still some dark fruit, but more earthy tones dominate. Medium palate, tannins completely integrated, medium finish. Faded quIte quickly over the course of our lunch. This really feels like it is reaching the end of its drinking life. My last bottle of 8, which have all given a lot of pleasure. For those with bottles still in their cellar, I'd say definitely time to drink up and, contrary to my earlier notes, be careful how much air you give it.
