A nice wine, but not what I was expecting, meaning it really had a heavy, auslese-like weight to it. Loads of tropical fruits and honey. Some slate, but this is really about the ripe, fruit. Lots of baked apples coming in on the finish. The acids are not as sharp as I would like, but this is not flabby. Again, a nice wine, but not quite up to expectations for an "auction" wine.

(Schloss Schönborn Hattenheimer Pfaffenberg Riesling Spätlese Auction "Lothar Franz") Great apple nose; some secondary fermentation, apple palate, lacking a little acidity; medium finish

1 of 13 bottles consumed. Like the other 3-4 bottles before, simply delicious! Glad I have 1 bottle left.
