Lots of ripe cherry and chocolate. Moderate tannin, typical TJ oak, and balanced acidity work together. I can see why a lot of people like this. On occasion, and this would be one, I enjoy this too.

- Crimsom color with fast forming legs and aromas of alcohol. It's high in alcohol and has flavours of raspberry, black currant, cloves and alcohol with a medium/full body. Flabby texture with a medium finish - Not a bad zin for the price, nice balance of fruit and tannin.. High alcohol as in most tobin James wines.

Decanted 90 mins. ahead. Almost black ruby color. Somewhat shy on the nose, but with good black fruit and spice notes. Soft on the palate, with vanilla flavors backing up the above fruit-and-spice combo. Acidity is a bit low, which opens the way for tobacco and cola flavors. Finish is short, not hot, with very light tannins. This is a solid bottle, not exceptional but drinkable if you like it soft with a bit of richness.

This was really singing last night. Good fruit with a bit of jamminess (if that's a word). Very smooth.
