  • Visual: Dark maroon color that is semi-transparent, no signs of clouding, and bricking at the rim.

Nose: Stewed meats, lots of secondary and tertiary aromas, pepper, and cinnamon

Palate: Cherry fruit, stewed meats, a hint of baking spices and drying leather-like tannins that were perhaps too dry

While the last bottle of this wowed me, this one disappointed. it was drank amongst great friends during a spectacular fireworks display at a private setting, but after dinner. It was good, but. Not at the Wow level. B/B+ on this wonderful night.

  • A deep red, bricking out at the rim. A mature nose featuring leather, baked fruit, earth, enveloping a still vibrant core of good pinot fruit that becomes more alive with air. A soft mouthfeel and gently drying tannins form the structure. Rounding out the palate, more than a hint of tart cherry and secondary flavors. Great company to roasted rack of lamb.

  • Visual: Dark maroon, great color, transparent.

Nose: White pepper, anise, dried rose petals, cinnamon

Palate: Cherries, leather, stewed meats, tandoori, hoisin

Once this opened up, it was firing on all cylinders. Great juicy fruit, good tannins and balanced acidity. Great secondary and tertiary notes. Very solid A! I can't wait for the next bottle!
