  • Light colored and shy on the nose although perhaps due to the slight chill. Light bodied wine, not very complex but delightfully drinkable.

  • ruby colour turning into cherry, shiny, really great. nose: firstly quite sharp, dark fruits and alcohol with tartness behind; really not playing the main role. Later still fresh but drifting into more sweet territory. Alcohol not so vivid. taste: fresh with low-medium acidity; plums with cherries; medium finish with nice tannins; almost elegant, alcohol not present on the palette. Watch the temprature, not to let alcohol takes control. Well done.

  • Rather light ruby red color with slightly orange edges. Lots of ripe cherries, dark fruits and meatiness on the nose; also a touch of alcoholic heat. Initially ripe, sweet plums that turn into peppery spice as the wine takes over the tongue. The mouthfeel is soft, balanced and somewhat tannic. Wine is not that acidic, yet it seems rather fresh and nicely light in body, though the ripe, sweet fruit and somewhat noticeable viscosity give some feeling of a fuller body. Though a bit simple, Gentilhomme is very nicely balanced, classic and enjoyable CdR. The finish is very warm, ripe and somewhat oaky. However, the use of oak is very balanced - the oak does not dominate the taste, but supports and lends some spice to it. Very nice everyday red, good QPR at 5,99€ for a half bottle.
