This wine was purchased on a whim while shopping at Trader Joe's. Deep ruby with red rim. Clean nose, showing pleasant cherry, coffee, clove and chocolate aromas. Medium-bodied on the palate, with low acidity, medium sweet tannins and well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.5%). The flavors are similar to the nose. While the mouth texture is fairly silky, the wine thins a bit in the middle and the finish is short-medium. This wine is perfectly acceptable for ten bucks, but I wish that they would not abuse the term "reserve" by putting it on a bottling such as this. Drink now-12/12.

Pretty disappointed in this. Trader Joe's had me going with their claim of a $45 value for $9.99. I realize that was the original price and it is now $9.99 because that is what is it worth. Having said that, this is good everyday drinking and would be great for a party wine. Pleasing typical Zinfandel flavor profile, but with no complexity and a very weak midpalate and finish.

Not as fruit forward as I expect for a zin. Consumed with some strong cheese and it couldn't keep up.
