I liked this more when we last had it ten years ago. The alcohol seems to be more noticeable now. The wine is a little hot and the fruit seems a little more sweet and stewed. Starting to develop some dark honey notes.

An opaque 9 year old wine still black to the edge with a half inch pour. Very nice balance of fruit, acid, and tannin that is refreshing, bright, well integrated, and delicious. Juicy blackberry and raspberry fruit, with a dry finish. Very enjoyable now and should remain excellent anytime in the next 4 years. Fine example of why Rhone wines are rightly famous for being deliciously drinkable without being sweet, heavy, or flabby.

Beautiful nose of dark berries, leather, and some gaminess. Smooth, rich, slightly tannic. In great shape and will last for several years to come.

Nice wine. Midweight although 14,5% Alc. Lost some backbone in the meanwhile but elegant, fruity and complex.
