  • This is drinking very well right now. Tons of violets on the nose, followed by plums, sage, pepper, wood, spice, and earth. (Ha, it reminded me a little of Thanksgiving dressing.) Blackberries, earth, violets, plums, herbs, and a little vanilla. Nice acidity, still slightly firm but integrating tannins, good finish. Full bodied. I’m glad that I waited to drink this, as the oak has integrated well. I just wish I could find another bottle.

  • This wine was given about an hour and a half to breathe. It is a blend of 70% Malbec, 11% Syrah, 10% Bonarda, and 9% Merlot. Abv 14.5%. To the eye this wine is a deep inky colour, and not translucent. To the nose this wine is fruit-forward with aroma of violet, but also earthy with aroma of mild chocolate and pepper, almost like a Chilean Carmenere, on the opposite side of the Andes range. On the palate the black pepper flavour is prominent, giving it an earthy quality. There is complexity in the flavour though, too, with, again, mild chocolate and violet. Excellent.
