  • still fruity - quite a few tannins but does feel old.
    The body is medium/full.

  • Medium+ ruby with modest fading at the rim.

Lovely nose if somewhat subtle. Juicy black plum, violet, new leather and chocolate.

Firm tannins but not lacking elegance and powerful acidity suggest this wine has years of aging ahead before it reaches peak.

Linear on the palate as the black plum and leather are unmistakable.

Very good length. Give this wine some time to evolve and harmonize

  • WSET 3 Workshop with Michael H; 12/1/2019-12/2/2019 (Temecula, CA): Deep purple; med+ intensity, fully developed aromas of herbal (mint, eucalyptus, medicinal), secondary oak (chocolate, espresso, cedar, smoke, mocha), black fruit (black currant, black cherry, black plum), floral (rose, violet), tertiary fruit (prune, fig, tar), and tertiary bottle age (forest floor, wet leaves, earth). Dry, med tannins, med- acid, high alcohol, med+ body, med+ intensity, med+ finish. Flavors of tertiary fruit development (dried blackberries, plum, cranberry, cooked red plums), tertiary bottle age (leather, forest floor, game, wet leaves, black tea, black olives), secondary oak (cloves, coconut, toast, chocolate, smoke, espresso, vanilla) and floral (rose, violet, geranium). This is an outstanding wine; drink now, will not benefit from additional ageing.

This was drinking perfectly. Smooth, integrated tannins and layers of flavor and aromas. Great deal from winebid at $19.

  • This held up pretty well. Not really that complex or distinctive, but a well balanced mix of black and blue fruits and some well integrated oak notes. Very concentrated, ripe and with a plush texture - I see that I had the same impressions 5 years ago as well. In a modern style, a good but not great wine in my view (B+).
