  • Drank over three nights, with and without food. Vibrant maroon color. Thick legs. When first poured into a glass the aromas really leap from the glass and permeate the room. Spruce, licorice and a little iodine/iron. The nose is full but not overbearing - balanced. Like the nose, the palate is quite full, but very balanced. Earthy, with gingerbread and hints of slate. There's nice concentration on the fruit but also the perfect amount of acidity to just shape and frame the fruit. Very clean. Not a lot of complexity, but there's great length and density as well as finesse and harmony. Was equally enjoyable alone and with food, also was just as tasty on the third night as the first. A very enjoyable bottle - it possesses some of those tantalizing intangibles that makes good Burgundies so alluring - you could just keep drinking and drinking.

  • Deep colour for Pinot with some brown ageing. Cherries, vanilla and cloves on nose. Rich cherry/plum fruit predominates the palate with no hint of jammy sweetness. Tobacco, leather and spices in the background, long taste with excellent balance. Great for a village wine. WoFW 15/20
