Unfortunately the last bottles I have left of these - bought directly from the doorstep of Alary. I will miss this wine, as it is one of the far best from this area of Rhone. It ages well, the grape combo of syrah and grenache is in a perfect balance, deep and still amazingly round - a strong recommendation. For me it matches a meat dish very well.

Didn't enjoy this as much as the last bottle. Possibly due to bottle variation or the fact that it paled beside the white burgundy we had before it. Notes of plum and pepper. Fairly light in body with a medium finish. Some acidity that was a bit too much for me.

Wow, great wine for the money. Dark fruit, pepper and just a hint of earth made this a very enjoyable wine tonight. Add a touch of well intergrated oakiness and this wine just sang the best of Rhone. Great QPR, plan to get more.

Second Sunday Group: 2004 California Cabs (Rich & Dana's): Red fruit and spice aromas with a nice underlying funky/earthy quality. Has some weight on the palate; spices, red and black fruit and a nice finish. Balanced.

Young, dense, and dark. Alary had no problems with the troublesome 08 vintage
