Begins rather reductive, and the sulfur stays with this wine over the coarse of the evening. Pretty closed right now and almost silly to open this now. But Deb wanted a "good Burgundy" and I thought it might be young and fruity and open. Wrong. There is some good cherry and red currant fruit, but this wine is locked up tight. Even after decanting, and vigorous swirling to let this get as much air as possible, it still hardly budged. There is good depth to the fruit, and the mouthfeel is silky, so it appears that there are good raw materials, and I can see this becoming drinkable, but I would wait at least five years. Didn't budge much overnight. It did show a bit of mocha/oak on the second night.

More tannin and acidity than the village bottling but of the same piece. Open and expressive. Big, yet with some secondary coming out. Of a set though with the producers style. The darkest, to me of Harmand 1er Cru.

Well, after two days open and two bottles deep, this tastes pretty darn good.
