Mild, well crafted, Puligny. Drinking younger than its age. A surprising zing on first tasting. Smooth. Good sized mouth feel. Not as minerally as I would expect. Pleasant.

Tasted blind. French oak spices on the nose, along with lemon and stones. Intense lemon on the palate, increasing in intensity through the finish. Rather creamy. I love the interplay of the high-pitched spices and the lemony crispness. This is well-crafted! Rating: 92
Guess the wine. Relatively young chardonnay. Too creamy and oaky to be Chablis, I think. Cote de Beaune or Rhys.
Non-blind p.s.: I am surprised that this is 9 years old. I don't taste any of the hazelnut and oatmeal aromas that I associate with chardonnay of this age.

Only moderate intensity, but good refinement and balance. Smooth fruit with good brightness without being too tangy. Light butterscotch. Light toasty oak. A constant crescendo to the finish.
