Community Tasting Notes (2) Median Score: 88 points

  • Appearance: Bright and clear, medium lemon in color, with watery rims and legs
Nose: Clean, medium intensity and developing aromas of lemon, honey, quince, musky, butterscotch, honeysuckle and spicy.
Palate: Medium-dry, with medium (-) acidity, this wine is of medium alcohol and medium (+) bodied, with medium intensity flavors of honey, lemon, grapey, honeysuckle, melon and white spice, finishing with a medium length.
Conclusion: Good quality Alsace Pinot Gris with a reasonably intense nose showing good complexity. Slightly sweet but balancing well with the acidity and alcohol, the palate is also reasonably intense, with fair complexity and length. Overall a well-structured wine and good with spicy food. Ready to drink now and can keep for another 2-3 years.

  • Alsace vindag 31 jan; 1/31/2011-2/1/2011 (Operaterassen, Stockholm): A good wine, with some more residual sugar compared to the pinot gris communal. But the dose of canned mushrooms is too much even for me.
