Riesling Rampage (Asquith, Australia): Interesting nose of roast meat, violets, earth and cherries. The palate doesn't quite have as much character and leans into being a little bit too lean for its own good.

Red fruited and slightly oaky, light bodied but full of flavour, sweet spicy fruit, musky, smoky, nice grainy tannins, driven by racy acid and should age well. Some whole bunch characters? Good value at $30.

I expected more. The De Bortoli estate Pinot is far superior at a cheaper price.
