I'm not a huge chardonnay drinker so my palate isn't quite as in tune as some other reviewers. I found this quite pleasant, traditional California char without being overly oaked, big buttery flavor, some fruit maybe pear with lemon on the finish. Decent length.

Opened and served in Riedel Montrachet stems. Sweet nose of pineapple and other tropical fruits, which extend into the palate with a creamy finish. Hint of lemon-lime in the aftertaste. Medium-light body. Medium acidity. Drink now before it becomes too honeyed.

This was not a wine that I would return to; seemed simple (and simply Californian) - but without the elegance that some Ca. Chards still manage to exhibit (such as Newton - remember I said elegance, not subtelty). Relied on oak without, it seemed to me, offering any real depth elsewhere. Drinkable - but not noticeably superior to some of the chards at half its cost. I recognize that I tend toward acidic whites and that my appraisal is likely less trustworthy as a result. Were you asking me I'd tell you to buy a Crawford Sauvignon Blanc at slightly more than half the cost (shucks, buy two) or spend half-again as much and buy a Newton unfiltered. At least, that's what I'll do.
