One of Mayo's better offerings, has pepper, dark red fruit, and dusty tannins. Deep purple on color, good acidity, chewy feel. Medium to long finish. Needs game or beef as will overpower less robust fare.

This is about as big thick and dark as red wine gets. Not exactly a blockbuster, but almost. Super dark color. Super rich nose, mostly dark fruit with a hint of purple flowers and earth. Surprisingly light on it's feet for a wine this dark and aromatic. Plenty of assertive, ripe, but subtle and controlled dark fruit surrounded by some earthy graphite minerality. Adequate, but not exactly outstanding mid palate. Whatever oak is very nicely integrated, as is what is probably considerable alcohol. A very nice change of pace with flavors and aromas that are quite unique. A slight taste of charcoal and dark cherry on a fish that is not strong, but still lasts a couple of minute.

No detailed TN, but this is still drinking fresh, so it has a little life left. I'd say drink up soon though!
