On the nose there’s toast, mushroom and lemon curd. It is fresh and detailed in the mouth with some smoky development and citrus fruit flavours. It is full, rich and dry and is an absolute Aussie classic.

Rare Wine Dinner - Australian Treasures: Spice and ginger with just a touch of kero, caramel and fresh citrus notes. The nose is great but the palate isn't quite as interesting for me. It is quite clean and has nicely cleansing acidity but the fruit is dropping away and it's not especially complex. I like it a lot but don't love this bottle.

40th Birthday Old Vino Dinner (Era Bistro, Brisbane): This was getting to a golden colour, but still lighter than expected. Certainly a mature Riesling, but still such a well balanced wine. Some fruit still on the palate, and acidity in balance. Had super length, wish I had another one of these in the cellar.

Golden colour. Nose of honey, spice, caramel and quince. Still long and fine on the palate. Got even better with air. Excellent.
