Opened this on a party night alongside a Chianti and a Cab. It was disappointingly thin with little character. After reading the other tasting notes, wondering how we can all have such a different experience with this wine. It is unfortunately too expensive to try again.

I opened one of these in October 2012 and it really seemed tainted. I opened another and it was such a solid wall of tannin that after triple decanting I still had to wait about 5 days before it was drinkable, and even then, you really had to like Barolo. After 5 days I started geting the eucalyptus nose a little bit. This is all from memory 14 months after the fact.
Sour cherry with leather, mushrooms and raw meat. On the lighter side with good acidity and a medium finish. Cranberry with a steely mineral component. Lingering drying tannins that persist for a long time. Lacks the fruit that would make this spectacular. Drink Now to 2016.

Hints of bicycle chain grease, shag carpet and countertop. A bit of sawdust on the finish. I would recommend pairing it with a bag of grass clippings
