I don't get what all the negativity on here is about; were you expecting overripe California pinot? Uncomplicated and lean; went well with mustard crusted arctic char. Tasted like what it is: a simple, everyday bourgogne meant for drinking with food. It's in a good place now and I'd drink within the next year or so.

13.5% alcohol. This has really rounded out nicely in bottle over the past year. Gentle and fully ready to drink. Tart red cherry fruit with a bit of funk and a pleasant texture. Uncomplicated but quite good for what it is -- straight forward with good expression. B+

I'm thinking that maybe the E.L. folks should stick to sourcing their grapes from Willamette and give up on this experiment. It's more of a cherry sweet tart than anything else, except for a promising nose. But once it's on the tongue the overly tart, very hollow midpalate and extremely unfriendly finish cure all hope of a memorable wine. Those who appreciate the opposite of plush and hedonistic might find something appreciable in this beanpole of a wine, but it's not one I would recommend. Pass on this one indeed.
