Opened 2 hours prior to tasting. Pours a dark red. Big 2009 aromas come out, oak and ripe raspberry/strawberry at the forefront. Some barnyard subtly emerges in the background. Baking spice and forest floor come along with more air. On the palate there's good concentration and depth of flavor and good balance. Unfortunately, this just doesn't have that specialness that good Grand Cru Burgundy should. It's good wine, very drinkable, but overall more akin to a great Village-level than a GC.

Gave it 2 hrs in the decanter and yum! Had with CR Salmon off cedar planks. Great pairing. Ripe red fruit, sandalwood, earthy loam, baking spice, and dried herbs. Smoked meat and tart fruit with a balanced palate leading to a medium plush finish. Nice heft to the wine but not heavy.
