Surprisingly good. Beautiful color, red and dark fruits/berries. Pungent- and oriental spices. Seductive texture, with grip and it’s just quite lovely.
Long finish, minerality a sapidic.
Drinking terrifically well and expect it will continue to drink well for quite a while.

My last of a case bought in 2006 at Zachys. Pop, decant for about 45 minutes and follow for 3 hours. Color is perfect, better than many 20 year old full fledged Barolos. Gets better with air. Nose slightly floral. Palate is smooth with red fruit, acidity, forest mushrooms and a bit of creosote. No apparent sweetness on the palate but a bit on the nose. Not on the downslope despite its humble "status" and age. Very smooth and easy to drink. I wish I had more to follow this for another decade.

I bought a case in 2006 for $24 a bottle and it has turned out to be an excellent buy for a very nice entry level Nebbiolo. The color is excellent, with orange tinge around the edge. Extremely smooth. Nose of plum and cherry. The plum was the first thing I noticed, and then some tart cherry. The palate is tart cherry, truffles, mushrooms, a hint of the plum, and Piedmonte nebbiolo creosote/road tar. I did not have time for a long decant, so this was in the decanter for only about 10 minutes before we started eating. Tasted over two hours, as it sat in the decanter. Very smooth and I think it's about at its peak. If it opens up to more flavors, that would be truly outstanding.

Flat and lacking in taste and aroma. Over the hill. Drink up.
