Wasn't as good as the 2006 and maybe was past its prime but still a very nice Syrah. It had heavy, dark fruit and plum with a pepper finish. Bit meaty on the palate but went great with the steaks we had.

This was the bronze medal winner at the Oregon Wine Geeks Syrah Tasting. I had it with dinner Thursday night at Porters. Open this wine then let it air, decant or aerate on pouring. It has an exceptional nose but needs some time and air to develop I gave it about 15 minutes tonight it got about 30 minutes at the tasting. You will get a deep blackberry, currants, blueberries and loam on the nose. The palate has a big fruit, sweet and mouth filling body that slides nicely into a structured acid and tannin finish. On the Edenvale website to buy this wine it is called the “2005 Reserve Syrah” though at Edenvale this is represents their “Pear House Reserve collection” . More Info on EdenVale

Took awhile to open up but still quite drinkable. Past its prime.
