Purple with garnet highlights. Raspberry jam, spices, and earth on the nose. Medium to full bodied, pomegranates, pepper, bing cherries, woody tannins, tea, and medium to long, tart and somewhat sappy finish. Very smooth and a pleasure to drink.

Some butter, some tannins, some acid, decent finish, but overall not a whole lot of flavor going on. Would be willing to give it another try down the line, but not overly impressed this time.

Label says 55% Sangiovese and 45% Cab. Sav. I think this is a misprint as it comes off as a Syrah/Pinot Noir blend. My 1st thought was Penner Ash's Rubeo. The nose is syrah like; blueberry and a bit of savory meat. Body is cherry/berry with plenty of acidity. Drying tannins dominate the finish. I like this is a good wine hence the 85pts but I don't think it represents either of the listed varietals.
