Pale beige gold in the glass. Stinky on opening, but that blows off quickly. Chenin leads the nose with hay and honeysuckle. Viognier leads the smooth, full, mouth-filling palate with flavors echoing the nose (natch) plus some pome and stone fruit and below medium acidity (typical for Viognier; probably getting a slight bump from the Steen). Was worried this would be a "sippin' wine," but no. While it can be sipped, it's a wine made for food. Roasted pork tenderloin or chicken spring to mind. Incredible QPR; easily drinks twice its sticker price. Drink soon. It's great now, but it won't get better.

I'm a fan of the Wolftrap red and love granache so thought "I'd give this a try". Was surprised at how much oak it had. Seems to call for a meal with it vs the 'sipping in the sunshine' wine I was hoping for. Strong nose and very dry. Not a bad wine...just not a type I personally liked.

Excellent rapport qualité-prix.
