The color is pale gold. The nose is filled with orange blossom, apple cider (?), anise, spice and a yeasty creaminess. The mouthfeel is lighter than some Roussannes, but not too light. In addition to the elements of the nose tracking well on the palate, the dominate fruit seems to be pear anise. Between this and the Chester Gap, I’d give a nod toward CG, but I wouldn’t throw this from the dinner table. 12.7% alc. With broiled chicken. Recommended.

Tried first in a Riedel Ouverture glass. Muted flavors, hot and lacking acidity. Switched to a Riedel Vinum Sauvignon Blanc glass. What a difference! More fruit, no heat and acidity suddenly was noticeable. Nice Viognier for VA. Glad I switched glasses!

Arcady Vineyards Wine Tasting Tour (VA Wineworks, First Colony, Blenheim, and Jefferson) (Monticello Wine Trail, Virginia): very very dry with muted fruit and a little heat on the back of the palate.
