A bit of barnyard and green blew off quickly. This is a dark, tarry wine with black cherry, smoke, charcoal, graphite, pine and a tannic finish. You can taste the soil in the wine. I would have blind called this a rustic Priorat.

DAY 2: A white truffle-y nose with some oak; on the palate, the mild, attractive vanilla oak reappears, a hint of dill, and classy, refined black cherry/black raspberry fruit that is very ripe, with a hint of liqueur, but has good acid and poise, which make it poised and keep it from any hint of flabbiness.

Cracking wine, powerful & complex, aromatic. Classic Cabernet tones of lead pencil supported by plummy fruit laced with peppery notes. Luscious, full bodied, smooth texture. R. Parker scored the wine as 91/100

Reveals its Spanish character but nicely into its own right now. The tannins have finally dropped!
