Dark garnet. Dark nose of duck and Asian spice. Dark, liquorice palate with cola, star anise and black cardamom, youthful and fresh but with pastille-like intensity. 24 hours later held together very well, more subtle and complex.

Tasted Blind two Red Burgundy with Mike, first place, Dark red color in the glass, deeper, and fresher than its peer tonight, tasted baked cherry tart, minerals, earth, with a touch of oolong tea, more of the same on the palate, delicious tasting, medium body, long finish, shows the greatness of the 1969 vintage.
