  • A little disappointing. Rather glossier and riper than i was expecting, and the vanilla notes from the new oak were too distracting, even at 11 years old. A rare foray for me into Spain and one that left me unenthused. A competently made wine, but just not for me.

  • - Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of tobacco, black pepper and black currant. It's balanced and has flavours of tobacco and coffee with a medium/full body. Smooth texture with a medium finish.

  • Had the forest and mushroom qualities with nice fruit. A little tight still but don't mind. For the money I spent on this it would have been smarter to get an 01 that might be a little more giving.

  • Spicy nose, perfume of violets, coconut flakes. More on the juicy than the creamy side, dark cherries, coconutflake-coated almonds, plums and some chocolate raisins in mocca on the finish. Really tannic, mid long - extremely youthful, I feel like having murdered this baby wine prematurely. Will watch it over the next few days. 87++ because it kicks you around and has still a quite hefty trigeminal component - more modern than old world.

Second day: More on the olive, spicy side, the coconut aromas are subsiding. The palate is quite similar, less attacking but with a refined acidity, the fruit is still overruled by tannins and oaky whatnot. All in all better - but I would like to see what this tastes like in 5 years. 88++
