Wine seemed well past prime initially but after it had time to open and breathe it was very nice with notes of black fruit, good mouth feel and wonderful intensity. A shame that I did not have this wine a couple years ago as I believe it would have rated 90-91 but still very good.

Light garnet. A: crystal clear raspberry, red currant, damp forest, rose. F: pure tangy red fruits, cherry raspberry, some sappy woodsy spice. Bright start to finish, where it lingers for a while.
Best and last bottle of this one. A bit of extra time since the last bottle to polish the edges. I prefer this and it’s subtlety to the burgundy of last week and the Sanford and Benedict of the week before, all fresh in memory.

A bump up here in my rating as I get a rounder feel on this bottle. Really elegant beams of raspberry and wild strawberry along with the pine sap and great acid of these wines. If you have these, they are drinking as well as ever.
As before, standing these up weeks in advance helps to settle the fine sediment, which seems to detract from everything good about the wine when it is not settled out. And don’t let a reckless friend grab it from the cellar and shake it up... that happened a few weeks ago and made the wine show far less nicely.

Several notes, all consistent with slight variations in the amount of fruit peaking through. Light garnet in the glass, sometimes with a bit of bricking on the edges. Candied rose petal, mushroom, pine sap, cranberry nose. Rich earthy flavors with ripe tart cherry, damp earth, orange rind on the finish. Go ahead and drink up!
June 14, 2019... no real changes here. Nose comes off a bit more like wild strawberry now, but just about everything else I wrote in December holds true today! If you have it, enjoy it!

Consistent with prior tasting notes. Good solid house Pinot.
