  dark almost purple color, blue and black fruit with toast oak on the nose. still quite youthful with dark fruits and obvious oak on the nose. lacking some of the cooler climate syrah notes that I prefer, but solid bottle with lots of life left.

  Inky magenta. Blueberry, lots of spices, and cedar on the nose. Medium bodied, crushed blackberries, sharp black cherries, pepper, dry sweet tannins, leather, dark chocolate, and a long finish. This has aged wonderfully.

  The smoky nose extended to the palate this time in a way that I found really appealing. The fruit, most noticeably blueberry, was still evident but the smoke (woodsmoke) put it over the top for me.
