This bottle was absolutely singing (of course it is the last one - it always happens like this) - a mash up of a Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Bordeaux and Burgundy in places - this is all layer black fruits over garrigue with some spices and herbs and liquorice coming through. These bottles can be a bit up and down, but if you get a good one then they are excellent.

A lot of variation in these bottles - some are as dead as a Dodo and others, like this bottle, are singing. Quite a niche taste - a full bodied, natural wine that has seen a lot of bottle age. An interesting result - lots of black olives mixed with the twang of natural yeasts and southern herbs. A kick of heat...slightly stewed element. Different. I like it when I am in the mood.

Very impressive wine, sitting at perfect maturity for my palate - soft cherries, herbs and red fruits cut through with some aniseed and orange peel. Nice feel on the palate - soft, gentle but with enough complexity to please. The corks are, however, a mess and I'd be impressed if anyone gets one out in one peice.

Old bones. Intense bramble nose, wild black fruit in the mouth. Long -ish finish. Intriguing, but drink up if you can find a good bottle.

A bit over the top? Spirity but still some nice fruit.
