This wine needs a minimum of 1 1/2 to open and breathe and show what it still has. And then you are treated to a nose of briar raspberry and vanilla. The palate, presents with raspberry and vanilla with finish of earths, and then cinnamon. Tannins perk up after 1/1/2 hours of breathing.

Agree with previous notes that this needs a long decant. We decanted it for a couple of hours on day one and still found it to be sort of disjointed. Much better on day two as the fruit mellowed a little bit and was better integrated. I have about 10 more bottles of this, so I'll get some formal notes next time.

I really tasted chocolate this time but after reading the notes on the bottle it said vanilla and I went, "ah hah, that's it". Everything else from my previous notes I still agree. Oh, and really let this decant and breath for about 4 hours if you can.
