Tasted this last back in 2016. This continues to evolve nicely but is definitely more mature than it was back in 2016. Decanted for 1 hour. Also, there is a ton of sediment in the bottle so decanting is a must. Powerful nose and really long finish. Built in a more rustic Bordeaux/Howell Mtn. style, but still very California.

Opened tonight in honor of the late Denis Malbec. Such a tragic loss of a great winemaker. The Howell Mountain fruit is definitely the signature on this wine. Wonderful nose, grainy tannin and incredibly long finish that goes on for 30+ seconds. Black cherry, cassis, bitter chocolate, espresso roast, a touch of green bell pepper. It opens up in the decanter after an hour or so. Lots of sediment, so definitely decant. If you are patient, give this another 3-5 years in your cellar. While not Chateau Latour, it is comforting to know it was made by a legacy of the world's best Bordeaux.

Tasted at three Taste of Howell Mountain Events in 2012. This wine is simply fantastic, from a winemaker, consultant and owner who formerly worked with his family at Chateau Latour. Lovely cabernet nose of dark black cherry fruit with hints of herbs, more of the same on the palate, mouth filling and lovely taste, geat, long finish. Taste of Howell Mountain Events. Expensive but worth it.
