Just as expected. Not a blockbuster but a fully mature pleasant drink. Cherry/blackcurrant fruit, all the structure behind it is there but a bit muted. I drank it at cellar temperature, which seemed ideal, tho Mrs E wanted hers a little warmer!

Nose has trademark Chinon nose - vegetal, mainly green peppers and herbs, and that fine (!) whiff of barnyard. Very supple on the palate, mid-weight mouthfeel that seems just right for the herb, savory and vegetable flavors... Only qualm is the slightly short finish. This will not appeal to everyone. It's like offering a mildly stinky French cheese to someone who has only ever had cheddar: they'll say it seems off. But if you're bored with the usual red/black fruit flavors, this will perk up your exhausted palate. A dozen years of aging and ridiculous price (ten quid a btl) makes this a solidly good deal. Paired superbly with lamb chops.

Delicious. Shame it was my last bottle.

Lovely, just shows how well some of these red Loires can age. Smooth, mature & pencil shavings on the nose & palate.

Great example of soft, mature Cabernet Franc at its best. Loved it.
