  Fantastic bottle of hunter shiraz. Right in the groove. So clean, interesting and drinkable. Still fresh but has come together and the acid has settled totally into the background. I have never been a fan of Johnnos on release but this shows the potential of this vinyard. This is the more delicate side of hunter winemaking. Lovely.

A show of hands indicated this was too light for many in the room. And yet for all its gossamer quality and low alcohol, there’s no hint at all of green or lack of ripeness. A fascinating curiosity which needs to be kept at least 8 years to evolve. And put it in a big glass…
