  • Deep yellow - complex nose - straw, almond, and felt a bit oak strong. This needed time and afterwards opened up - less oak, more hazelnut, and acidity came forward to balance. Powerful and could hold up with crispy brinjal and fried food

  • PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Leaf” day): Deep golden to the eyes.

Lots of super ripe yellow fruits. Sulphurous notes that set this apart.

Very rich on palate and a big wine in any sense for its extraction.

    93-94 points.

  • Dinner with the Monthly Group (Bedrock Bar & Grill, Pan Pac Suites): Lovely wine - drinking right in its sweet spot now. Nose showed mature characteristics of mushroom, umami and a light touch of chicken stock together with red apples, pears, buttery accents and smoked walnuts, with honey notes coming out with time. Certainly not explosive like a Leflaive or Coche-Dury, but with tons of understated depth. Same theme on the palate. Plenty of class in its understated richness. Very complete wine this, with great balance and verve undergirding gentle but very deep waves of flavours that washed through the palate. Gorgeous red apples on the attack, green apples on midplate, and then ripe lemons, mushrooms, butter, smoke and nuts - all with plenty of flesh and a lovely minerality. Finish is full of sappy, juicy fruit with long draw of smoky minerals. Excellent.
