Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 92.7 points

  • A powerful, robust wine with extraordinary concentration and complexity not typically found in Chassagne. This was put into a blind tasting of 2005 WB's as a ringer and it was most people's favorite scoring above Coche Meursault Caillerets, Ramonet Bienvenue and about on equal footing with BdM CC. It showed the big fruit of the hot vintage but also had a powerful streak of acidity that kept it fresh and zippy. Superb complexity on the finish.

  • This is rather splendid. Medium gold in colour combined with a nose of peaches and white blossoms. On the palate it's well-structured, concentrated, muscular, rich and fat and laden with almost tropical flavours and a complex finish. It's acidic backbone prevents it from being flabby. I like this a lot, but haven't scored it higher because it seems to have been produced for early maturing (it's only 4 years old, but already firing on all cylinders) and whilst unmistakingly Chassagne it doesn't have the refinement that I'm looking for in the greatest wine from that area. Having said that, please pass the bottle, I'm not really complaining! Excellent stuff. Estimated maturity: 2013-2019
