  • Perfect cork, mid neck fill, light transmits fully through, light colored. Slo ox for several hours, then full decant for 1 hour. Smokey full sweet nose withmultiple overtones. Initially light bodied and not matching nose, but gained weight in the glass and thoughout the evening. More like an older Burgundy, but progressed to a soft well aged Cotes du Rhone. Medium body with multiple layers of nuance. Definite red and dark fruit, oak, smoke, mushrooms, forest floor, sweet tannins, secondary and tertiary notes. Actually quite thrilling at the end. Moderate finish. A surprising wine which needed more air and patience than most would give it.
