  i have heard various reviews on this wine over the years. Sometimes it has been dumb and flat, sour and dead, good.. But hey, after 19 years and tasting it several times and having different experiences, it is showing very well tonight. Dried blood, minerals spice, violets, spice, earth tones and saddle. very aromatic....flavors followed the nose.. mouth feel was round and full, very nice...minerals, violets all come out in front. finishes was at least 30 seconds.. very nice wine. i wont get any better but still has a few years left in this wine.

  Purple-brown color with a plummy bouquet and flavor, plus a distinctive dusty taste. Modest in all dimensions. Second bottle tasted at the same time had definite tar and leather notes.

  When I opened this I was afraid it was flawed due to a musty nose. But after sitting for about 30 minutes the mustiness disappeared and a wonderful nose of fruit and herbs took its place. No bricking to speak of, which I was not expecting. Lots of fruit, cherries and blackberries with notes of leather, earthy herbs, and some spice. Well balanced, not at all hot, medium to long finish.
