Beautiful, rich, sappy, pungent, fruity, spicy, nobly earthy, mid-slope Rheingau. Peach, apricot/tart-apricot, pear, quince, lime-oil, lanolin, starfruit, grapefruit. Some crushed-rock, lime-flesh & lime-zest on the back palate, & ramps up on the finish. Excellent acidity, balance, intensity. Drinks like a low/mid-level Spatlese. Great QPR (I paid $18.50+). Been through cases; has been a house favorite for a long time. Each decent vintage is pretty much a no-brainer QPR buy. (91+)

Nose initially with hints of rubber and petrol which blew away on successive tastings; over time, gave way to candied pineapple, honey, and some stone fruits. More on the richer side on the mouthfeel; palate initially with citrus and apple/pear flavors which developed over time to the tropical side with hints of pineapple and mango. A bit "rounder" on the finish with good acidity but not the ripping acidity found in some kabinetts.
Nice expression of rheingau including a bit fleshier body with softer finish; those looking a delicate, light-bodied wine with bright, ripping acidity should look elsewhere.

Aromas of apple, stone fruit with chalky minerality. Charming Rheingau fruit on the palate with an elegant and silky mouthfeel. Nice acidity to balance the RS. Fairly good length and quite enjoyable overall.

(Weingut Spreitzer Oestricher Lenchen Riesling Kabinett) Very light yellow color; tart peach, apple nose; tasty, tart peach, mineral, green fruit palate with sweetness; medium finish 88+ points
(Spreitzer Oestricher Lenchen Riesling Kabinett) ($26.00) The sweetness has been inching down each year, which makes me glad, because this ’10 shows you don’t need a lot of fructose to eke out this wine’s cider-y soul. This is a riot of apple, a pagan orgy of apples, apples re-enacting Caligula (co-starring aloe-vera), an insanely, bewitchingly lip-smackingly delicious wine, as this is at its very best.
