tasted @ Vinorama Classic Event: Well balanced wine with lots of rough tannins still and little fruit, very structured and dry. Will require extended cellar time. - 89+

Red fruit, chocolate and hints of leafy vegetality on the nose. Velvety in palate with zesty acidity and firm/ripe tannins that balance medium full alcohol and body. Ripe and oaky style with good balance.

(Prieler Pinot Noir) ($69.00) The wine grows in delicacy and refinement each year, just as it grows less oaky. Now we get almost Vosne aromas, deep sweet and meaty. Seriously good! The palate is almost painfully tight - to the point of constriction – but the finish goes all truffley. I’m curious to follow this. Silvia says that filtering will open it up, in fact. So much for the conventional wisdom, right?
