  Popped, decanted for ~30 mins, consumed over a couple of hours. I think this wine is as advertised (at least as advertised to me). It's definitely more fruit forward with less structure, but I have to say I enjoyed it more than anticipated. It isn't the blockbuster wine that much of the other l'Aventure wines are, but if you've had any of the others you can definitely still feel that house style present. There's enough acid and tannin to keep it from being overly flabby/fruited.

  I paid $30, and was happy to do so for the L'Aventure label. However, I won't be buying additional bottles. And I'd say if it were from another label, it should go for ~$20ish (low).
  
  To me, it actually was reminiscent of a Granache.

  A year later, coming along nicely. Open for 30 min before drinking. What starts as a bit acidic and maybe even vegetal opens into classic L'Aventure dark extraction berry syrup meets tar. Lasting mouthfeel. Acids have integrated a bit since last year. Terrific value. I'm still annoyed with the green pepper when first opened, a clear sign of overextraction, but easily solved with time out of bottle.

  Still so very young. Honestly, I wouldn't touch this for another five years. Smells like classic Cote-Rotie, brimming with chalk, limestone, traces of grapeseed, and clean, slightly old world berry core. Very French in style. The acids are bright on the nose and initial, leaving it hard to appreciate the fruit in full. Let this settle down, and the lush, balanced mouthfeel should come together.
