Nose of blackberry and raspberry with a touch of vanilla. Solid tannic backbone, yet not overwhelming. Moderately spicy medium to think mouthfeel. Plain semi-dry cherry flavors for the palate. Unremarkable medium length finish, nice but nothing special.

Nose of blackberry, vanilla, and hints of toasted almond coming though late. Medium to thick mouthfeel with partially integrated tannins. Simple cherry flavors for the palate, not overly spicy. A touch of heat on an otherwise unremarkable medium length finish. Not the best of pairings with baked Virginia ham, but that's not a fault of the wine.

It's a brilliant ruby color to the edge, and there's vibrant raspberry and blackberry aromas coupled with menthol and pine suggesting American oak. It's ready to drink now to 2 years from now. There's nice acid for food; we had it with an artichoke and red bell pepper pizza from our favorite wood-fire pizza place.

Brilliant bright crimson colour. Red and black currants with just a hint of oak and tannins. A nice representation of Coonawarra Shiraz.
