GRAPE VARIETIES: CHENIN BLANC, CHARDONNAY ALCOHOL BY VOLUME: 12,5%
Appearance: Clear, medium lemon. Clean nose of medium(+) intensity, developing. Aroma characteristics: green, citrus and stone fruit (ripe apple, fresh lemon, peach) with further hints of ripeness (honey) and oak-related notes of nutty kernel and buttery dairy. Also a light, autolytic yeastiness. Dry/off-dry on the palate with high level of acidity. Medium alcohol, medium bodied. Medium(+) intensity. Aroma characteristics repeated on the palate. Creamy mousse. Long finish.
Nice! Not to be compared to Champagne, as this is not very expressive in terms of yeasty complexity. Instead, imagine a dry/off-dry, acidic Riesling Trocken Sekt (methode traditionelle) - with a good splash of fat, oaky chardonnay in it. Does that make any sense? Oh well, I like it a lot! Ready to drink, but will keep. 90/100
