Nice sipping wine but rather single demensional. Finish is light after a very fruit forward beginning. I want to really like this wine but can't really get there. Maybe if it could be aged just a little it might improve but it is a screw top so can't really do that. I'll try it in the next few days and see if it gains a little more complexity.
Named after thier first winemaker in sometime really long ago. They are all the way in the south of Alsace because they really enjoy the rainshadow from the Voges. Which gives them the fruity wines. Spicy and exotic in the nose and then some grassiness, palate again a little bit less than precise, fits in to the "fruity" catergory nicely. Well done at $19.99, wish it was cheaper. "Gris is more off-dry"
color: light yellow-silver; nose: banana, but just faint -- otherwise, nothing (sad!); taste: light mouth feel, off-dry honey-banana taste, soft short-duration finish; overall: for me, too sweet to drink by itself, and would probably pair well with Thai or Ethiopian food -- but sadly, as it stands, my least favorite of the many yummy Albrecht wines I have enjoyed over the years.
