Mostly similar to the previous note but I thought that this time around the fruit sweetness showed a few more smarts. Sweet yes but tightened with mildly sour cherry. Buzzy and slightly spritzy all the way through the palate. Will send out at least another year.

Perhaps one can't expect too much for a CO pinot that trades at full retail in the low 20s but this is not the wine to show off the region's not inconsiderable credentials. Simple, a bit sweet, but well made and pleasant. That said, none of the bitter black cherry the region shows so well although I think it desperately tries to poke its head through mid palate (but the fruit sweetness drowns it out). This wine did grow on me and I can't question the value.

On the nose I had some dust and strawberries. There was an interesting core to this wine something i can only describe as a vegetal pong of some sort. Maybe it was the devil in the detail of this wine...In the mouth it was fresh with nice fruit on the pallette and I also picked up a light carbonized tingle on the tongue. Interesting wine.

Central Otago Pinot Noir Expo (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): Savoury, autumn leaf nose with bright red cherry notes, and a fresh fruit palette with great tingling acidity.
