  • Here's a wine I wasn't necessarily looking to age, but sometimes a bottle just goes out of sight and out of mind for a while and then turns up down the road, and, well, here we are. Shame I didn't record a note on the other one I had and drank years ago for comparison, but what're you gonna do?

Deep golden color here like a white that's got some age on it for sure. Aromas of bruised apple, pear, peach, nectarine, and seashell, and sourdough. Full bodied and round in the mouth, with medium acid and finish, and flavors of faded apple and pear, some herbs, a bit of lemon curd, and light minerality and not unpleasant bitterness on the tail end. Definitely past peak, but not undrinkable or unenjoyable, and worked just fine w/ our shrimp and herbed quinoa tonight. 87-88

  • Color: Pale gold.

Nose: Fresh and clean, with peach, pear, and some tropical notes of pineapple, grapefruit, and mango, as well as heady floral aromas. It's not overly citric, so to speak, but there is the impression of acidity, if that makes sense. With air, some chalky mineral nuance emerges.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied and steely.

Palate: Green apple and mineral on the attack. It's actually considerably less acidic than I expected, but it is still refreshing and lively, kept from heaviness by the savory mineral and by being quite dry. The finish is of rock and grapefruit. Delicious.
